Can I have money contributions refunded and returned to participants?eGift Card contributions are non-refundable. The gift card option will automatically be turned off when you start your event page. Please make sure to keep that option off if you do not wish to collect donations toward a gift card for the recipient. Can collected money be redeemed as cash instead of a gift card?No, money contributions are only redeemed as a digital gift card, pre-paid visa, or charity of their choice. Gift card contributions are non-refundable. Once claimed, they are final and cannot be exchanged for cash value. Why did I get charged in USD?For the time being, the collected amount is displayed in USD, regardless of your payment method. Conversion will occur if the recipient redeems the collected amount towards a non-USD denominated gift card. The eGift Card will be given in the appropriate currency. How do I add money to a gift card?As the VidDay creator, you can set up a collection pot to collect money that the recipient will redeem as an eGift Card, prepaid Visa, or charitable donation of their choice. To contribute money to the collection pot visit the Add a gift card page and select the amount you wish to donate and make the payment. A receipt will be emailed as confirmation. If you'd like to allow contributors to submit to the pot click on the Turn On button and they'll see the option on the Invitation page.

Are gift card money contributions safe?Yes, all funds contributed towards an eGift Card are kept safe. VidDay makes use of Stripe as the payment processor. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. How do I add a gift card?You will need to set up a collection pot to add a gift card. Start by finding the gift card call-out at the bottom of your event page. Then, click on the button to visit the gift card page. Toggle 'Yes' in the collection pot settings, and you will be able to contribute money to the collection pot. People you invite to submit videos and photos will also be able to add money after uploading media.

Can I control who can add money?Yes, you have complete control over who can contribute money to the collection pot. The default setting is that only you the creator of the video can add to the pot. To allow all contributors to submit to the gift card pot, go to the Add a gift card page and click on Turn On. What are the gift card fees?The base fee for an eGift Card transaction is $1.99, plus a 3% administration fee. The 3% is calculated based on the contribution amount. For example, if you were to contribute $50.00, the breakdown would be as follows: ($50.00 * 1.03) + $1.99 = $53.49 Contribution: $50.00 Admin fee: $1.50 Base fee: $1.99 Total: $53.49 Our fees are meant to cover the costs we incur when processing these transactions.

How does the gift card feature work?After starting a new VidDay, you (the VidDay creator) can scroll to the bottom of the Event Page to add a gift card — click the button to Add a gift card. You can keep this solo if you only want you (the VidDay creator) to add money. Or, you can make this available for others to contribute to as well Select Turn On if you want to give others the option to add money after uploading media.

How will the recipient get their gift card?The VidDay creator (you) will share the private link with the recipient so they can visit their gift page. They will follow simple instructions to claim their eGift Card. Under their video gift, they will click Redeem your gift and enter their email address and start the redemption process. They will receive an email from Tremendous — the gift card service provider — with a link to go choose their gift card.

Are charitable gift cards tax deductible?Yes, charitable gifts are made in the recipient's name. Therefore, recipients can claim the deduction. For US residents, more information on charitable tax deductions can be found on the IRS website. Canadian residents can view the CRA website for details. How long does the recipient have to claim the gift card?As the recipient of a gift card, you have 90 days from your VidDay's publish date to claim your digital gift card. So, we recommend claiming it as soon as possible to avoid forgetting. After all, everyone who contributed wants to ensure you enjoy your gift. Also, note that this 90 days only applies to the redemption of the gift card from VidDay. VidDay uses Tremendous to issue digital gift cards; each card has a specific expiry date after being redeemed.
