What Is a VidDay Invitation?

When you create a VidDay group video, you’ll get a shareable invitation page where people can upload their videos and photos. This page is fully customizable — you can change the text, add a recipient photo, include creative prompts, and more.

Step-by-Step: How to Customize Your VidDay Invitation

1. Open the Invitation Section

To begin customizing your invitation:

• Go to your event page on VidDay.

• Click the Send Invites card.

• This will open the editing view of your Invitation Page — the one that guests will use to submit their content.

2. Add a Photo of the Recipient

A friendly face makes a big difference.

• Upload a photo of the person you’re celebrating.

• This photo will appear on the invitation page and make the experience feel more personal for your invitees.

3. Customize the Banner Style

Choose a banner design that reflects the occasion — whether it’s a birthday, retirement, anniversary, or baby shower.

• You can select from a variety of styles to match the mood of your video.

4. Personalize the Welcome Message

Your invitation includes both a video option and a written message.

Record a short welcome video to explain what the VidDay video is about and encourage participation. This is optional, but a great way to make the invitation feel more engaging.

5. Add Creative Prompts for Invitees

Help your guests know what to say by adding up to 3 creative prompts.

• You can choose from pre-written prompts or write your own.

• These prompts appear on the invitation page and are meant to inspire thoughtful, funny, or heartfelt video messages.

• “What’s one thing you’ve always admired about [Recipient’s Name]?”

6. Set a Submission Due Date

Your invitation includes a submission due date to help people know when to send in their videos.

• You can update this date at any time.

• Submissions can still be accepted after the due date, right up until you finalize the video montage.

✅ The invitation only officially closes to new submissions when you choose to finalize your VidDay video — after that, no one can upload additional videos or photos.

7. Enable Optional Group Gift Features

VidDay offers two optional ways for guests to contribute a group gift:

💸 Group Gifting

Enable this feature so people can add a monetary gift along with their video.

• All funds are pooled together and sent to the recipient.

• The recipient can redeem them for a gift card or donate to a charity.

🌱 Group Planting

Give contributors the option to plant trees in honor of the recipient.

• Their name and the number of trees they planted will be included in the final video.

You can choose to turn on one, both, or neither — it's completely optional.

8. Preview Your Invitation Page

Once you’ve made your customizations:

• Click Preview to see how the invitation page will look to your invitees.

• This helps ensure everything is clear, personal, and ready to share.
