What Are Message Prompts (and How Do I Add Them)?

When you invite friends and family to record a video, not everyone knows what to say right away.

That’s where message prompts come in.

Prompts give your invitees a little inspiration—gentle guidance that helps them feel more confident, focused, and excited to contribute. You can add up to three prompts to spark creativity and encourage heartfelt messages.

Why Use Message Prompts?

Message prompts can help:

• Break the ice for camera-shy guests
• Encourage deeper, more personal responses
• Create a more cohesive and meaningful final video

They’re especially helpful for people who want to contribute but aren’t sure what’s expected.

How to Add Message Prompts

You can add message prompts while personalizing your invite:

1. Go to the Invitation page
2. Click on the Customize tab (you’ll see this beside "Invite Options")
3. Look for the section labeled “Inspiration for invitees”

You can:

• Choose from suggested prompts, or
• Write your own custom prompts—anything you’d like your guests to respond to.
• You can add up to 3 prompts total

Invitees will see these prompts before recording their message, so they know what kind of story, sentiment, or memory you’re hoping for.

Prompt Ideas

“What do you love most about them?”

“Tell us your favorite memory together.”

“Any advice or well-wishes for the year ahead?”

“Say something that will make them laugh!”
